Video / Debate: Ouahbi affirms that the next head of government “shall not be indecisive nor shall give in to lobbies”
Morocco’s next head of government shall not be an “indecisive” man for he is required to make decisions on several important issues in real time, underlined the secretary general of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), Abdellatif Ouahbi.
In light of the debate organized by Fqih Tetouani Foundation, Ouahbi indicated that the next chief executive shall not give in to the blackmail that takes place on Facebook, nor to political pressure, however, he shall assume his duties to the interest of the Nation, “otherwise, he shall remain indecisive and will eventually succumb to lobbies”.
Ouahbi also stressed that the next head of government shall be “clear” with the people, for Moroccans are “tolerant” people and “do not like to be lied to”, specifying that the next government “shall be expanded” rather than “consisting of two main political parties only”; in addition, “entrusting several powers to a single minister” shall be reconsidered.
I see no problem with the government being made up of 30 or 40 portfolios, representing all political parties and civil society, he added.
Ouahbi also drew attention to the fact that the government could be made up, “if necessary”, of all political parties “until the country finds its way out of its crisis”.
“At that point, each political party shall regain its natural position,” he said.
As for his relationship with former PM, Abdelilah Benkirane, Ouahbi stated that the latter was a “friend” and considers him to be a “unique” political figure.
Moreover, PAM’s SG assured the possibility of a future collaboration with the former PJD secretary general, Abdelilah Benkirane”, stating that the latter is a political leader who is known for his firm positions and his dedication to the monarchy”.
In this regard, Ouahbi welcomed Benkirane’s latest position on the reestablishment of relations between Morocco and Israel “in light of the latter’s determination to defend the current head of government, El Othmani, with extreme neutrality and dedication”.
