Morocco will take part, from September 28 to October 2 in Milan, in the “Youth4Climate: Driving Ambition” conference and in the pre-COP 26.
This participation, which is part of the preparations for COP 26, aims to highlight the crucial role of future generations in climate action, said a statement from Moroccan participants.
Young Moroccan Hatim Aznague will participate, alongside 400 young activists from all over the world, in this summit to discuss issues and priorities related to climate action, in particular the ambition of young people, sustainable recovery and the involvement of non-state actors.
Aznague underlined in this regard the efforts made by the Kingdom under the leadership of HM King Mohammed VI in the fight against climate change, recalling the pioneering Moroccan experience in this field at the continental and international levels.
The Milan summit represents an opportunity to highlight the Moroccan model, he added.
Convened by the Government of Italy and building on the success of the 2019 UN Youth Climate Summit, the event will provide young delegates an unprecedented opportunity to put forward ideas and concrete proposals on some of the most pressing issues on the climate agenda.
The first two days will be dedicated to working groups, while the last day will feature a discussion between young delegates and the Ministers attending pre-COP 26.
