Abdellatif Ouahbi: Moroccan citizens’ interest comes first in the priorities of the government which makes big efforts to limit the implications of prices increases of basic foodstuff

PAM Secretary General, Mrs. Abdellatif Ouahbi said, at the communication regional meeting of PAM women from Deraa-Tafilalet area held last Saturday, June 18, 2022 in Ouarzazat, that this meeting has come in the context of a series of communication meetings organized by PAM leadership along with PAM women and which have been characterized by big successes in many areas.

Mr. Ouahbi added in a statement read on his behalf by Mrs. Fatima Saadi, a member of PAM politburo and the party’s deputy secretary general “the last meeting of those PAM women meetings held in the area of Guelmim Oued Noun, an area very close to our heart and which has proved through women militants and their adherence to their own party, of a big political awareness despite some failed attempts of disruption by some political sides outside the PAM and which have intentionally wanted to sabotage this important meeting not attended by the party’s secretariat general for emergency reasons”.

On the occasion, Secretary General has praised the strong adherence of the party’s area militants to the PAM, announcing the recommendations issued by this meeting which aim at establishing an on-going dialogue with the party’s leadership. The meeting has also sent several messages through which party’s militants in the area of Guelmim Oued Noun have refuted all rumors to undermine the PAM union and so have overcome the party’s enemy in this area and in the entire nation.

Mr. Ouahbi has also expressed his gratitude to the Guelmim Oued Noun meeting and to all PAM women meetings in other areas on their top, Rabat-Salé-Kenitra, Casablanca–Settat, Marrakech–Safi, Fes–Meknes, Souss-Massa, Tangier–Tetouan–Al Hoceima, confirming that today’s meeting has come to debate in the best possible means the constitution of an independent efficient women organization capable of making proposals and ideas to reinforce the presence of women in various fields and represent a strong lobby to strengthen and empower Moroccan women’s rights in accordance with national basic variants and constitutional institutions and in the context of close partnership and cooperation with different active players of the society.

Mr. Ouahbi said “this meeting is being held in very specific national and international conditions characterized by several economic constraints and social problems resulted in dramatic increases of prices of basic foodstuff in international markets and despite the tremendous efforts undertaken by the government to limit their implications on social condition and on citizens’ purchasing power; the fact which requires from us as a responsible party to make more sacrifices, militancy and creativity in finding appropriate solutions and so contribute to minimizing the severity of those problems on citizens.

Mr. Ouhbi continued by saying “We are fully aware today of the suffering faced by women in the area of Deraa – Tafilalet and in the remaining of other vulnerable areas of exclusion, marginalization and needs of different conditions for living in dignity, adding that if Moroccan women have suffered over the last few years in normal social and economic conditions, let’s imagine what is coming ahead of these hard internal and external social and economic problems; the fact which will bring women to pay more for our failure to minimize these development disparities and overcome masculine culture and break down many taboos and cultural idols and bad traditions which have nothing to do with human nor Allah’s jurisdiction, and which will contribute to more poverty, vulnerability among Moroccan women and more illiteracy, exclusion and marginalization regarding the simplest rights, on their top, the right for education and health”.
