PAM Politburo held last Wednesday, May 24, 2023, an ordinary meeting presided over by Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, dedicated to debate latest developments in the national political scene and to discuss some organizational internal issues of the party; and after deep discussion of various issues included in the detailed political presentation presented by the Secretary General, PAM Politburo has stated the following points:

Recalls with big pride His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s keen interest of strategic aspect which are: Water and hard conditions facing farmers; and his keenness of the necessity to take susceptible measures to overcome the problem of water scarcity, and support farmers to prepare for good upcoming agricultural campaign. In this context, we salute the government for its big efforts to overcome hard water problems, and call on the government to have the same determination in implementing royal instructions in the agricultural sector, especially by broadening the circle of small farmers who will benefit from imported fodder, and therefore contribute to reduce the cost of productions means, seeds and agrochemicals.

In the same context, Politburo highly appreciates the strategy started by the government concerning the protection of livestock, including multiple partnership agreements signed at the international agricultural fair; we also call on the government to multiply its efforts to provide appropriate conditions for this year Eid Al Adha (Sacrifice feast) and help reduce prices to be available to all social categories of Moroccans and guarantee and protect markets from speculation.

The Politburo also stresses the importance of external communication between government components and public opinion to besiege rumors and fake news, and allow citizens to get their right for correct information. The Politburo also calls on the government to implement major reform projects and on the government presidency to intensify internal efficient communication among various government sectors and an active dialogue with our ministers.

The Politburo strongly values efforts deployed by the government in the social sector and appreciates all the resolutions and measures made by the government, which have started to have positive impact on the lowering and stabilization of prices of some basic food. We also reiterate our call for more determination to confront agents and speculators and raise control process inside national markets.

Regarding the party organizational issues and after being informed by new measures to hold regional conventions especially in Casablanca-Settat area, Marrakech-Safi, the Oriental and Deraa-Tafilalet, the Politburo has recorded with satisfaction the successful national convention of PAM women organization held in Bouznika last May 19/20, 2023 and which has showed a high-standard political and intellectual level of PAM women militants from different areas of the Kingdom; congratulating, on the same occasion, the new women organization leadership for its democratic victory, wishing to see the new PAM women organization in the forefront of campaigning in favor Moroccan women rights. The Politburo has also called on PAM youth to pursue a good preparation for their national convention for the sake of the party social democratic project and its basic principles.

Regarding the party internal issues, the Politburo has issued disciplinary measures against four MPs, one to be dismissed definitely and the three others will be presented to regional committees for arbitration and disciplinary action.
