«With Montasser» Medi-1 TV channel program.. Minister Bensaid highlights promising scopes for culture and creative industry professions

Minister of Youth Culture and Communication, Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, was the guest to Medi-1 TV channel program “With Montasser”, along with President of the federation of cultural and creative industries in Morocco, Nayla Tazi, to confirm that the Ministry of Culture is working hard to create new professions in this regard; highlighting that Moroccan students who graduate from Moroccan universities will not find it hard to look for job opportunities in other countries and so will be allowed by the means of this new orientation set up by the Ministry of Culture to work and create inside their country, Morocco.

The goal behind this program, according the Minister Bensaid is to develop the concept of culture industries and bring in investments funds from the private sector to various cultural programs and activities.

Minister Bensaid has reaffirmed that “the sector is still in need for more work and accompaniment for creative works by artists and intellectuals; and we are planning to raise funds value every year, especially that there are big expectations and we should therefore provide sufficiently respected funds to those artists and intellectuals.”

“We think about developing this concept of culture industry and there should be subventions to cultural enterprises”, added Minister Bensaid. The Ministry is working on establishing a framework regulation to govern those culture enterprises.

The Ministry of Culture is coordinating with Ministry of Finance to establish a ministerial project bill about legal recognition of those culture enterprises so that they could benefit from national funds program and also from international organizations subventions funds.

Minister Bensaid has made clear that “when we talk about culture industry, we don’t mean only cinema and e-gaming, but there are other sectors as well such as theater, books and other professions related to cultural and arts activities.”

Regarding the Ministry follow up activities prior to the organization by our country hosting the soccer world cup in 2030, the Minister said: “If the world cup is seen basically as a sports activity, yet for us, we see it as a world event that comes within a development process for our country.. and that culture industry could accompany this development process and therefore needs to be developed, improved and invested to bring about new professions.”
