In light of its official visit to Dakhla, the Young Democrats of America’s (YDA) delegation recalled Washington’s recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its southern provinces, calling on businessmen to scout for investment opportunities in this flourishing region, for it represents great economic potential.
YDA President, Joshua Harris-Till is heading a four-member delegation on a four-day trip to Dakhla, at PAM’s invitation.
Joshua Harris-Till affirmed that the US recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over its Sahara “is a first step”, stressing that there is still work to be done, in the prospect of encouraging foreign investments in Dakhla ».

The young Democrat addressed the importance of the socio-economic dynamics and the structuring projects for the future of the region’s youth.
There is a real potential here for the region’s youth to enjoy a prosperous environment, the President of the American delegation noted, upon his visit to a local farm, on Friday morning.
This visit will help the YDA delegation develop partnerships with its young Moroccan counterparts, said Joshua Harris-Till.
For her part, American Democratic Party member, Ms. Heather Brown, indicated that Morocco has developed a strategic vision for the region to reach high levels of progress in the future, noting that this vision will turn Dakhla into platform for Africa.

It is noteworthy that Ms. Heather Brown has already visited the city of Dakhla (11 years ago), during the world’s largest flag presentation ceremony.
Brown has repeatedly stated that she has been “thrilled” to witness several positive changes within the city, especially in terms of socio-economic development, stressing that “the United States and Morocco shall always be friends and partners”.
Moreover, the American delegation took part in a joint meeting to discuss Morocco’s “Autonomy Plan for the Southern Provinces”, during which, the delegation emphasized the importance of the autonomy plan initiated by the Kingdom of Morocco, for it represents “the one and only solution” to the artificial dispute that Algeria tends to promote.
Within the same context, the members of the American delegation held a meeting, on Thursday, with the director of the Regional Investment Center (CRI) within Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, Mounir Houari.
Throughout the meeting, Mr. Houari tended to highlight a wide range of economic opportunities that Dakhla region has to offer, including fisheries, aquaculture, renewable energies, tourism and agriculture.
During his visit to Dakhla, Joshua Harris-Till was accompanied by Ms. Heather Brown, as well as the YDA’s Vice-President, Ms. Carrisa Mechelle McFadden, and the President of The National Federation of Democratic Women (NFDW), Ms. Danielle Glover Nicole.
