Covid-19 – Morocco’s government to adopt a series of measures starting June 1st

The government has decided to adopt, as of Tuesday (June 1st), a series of measures, in view of the positive results relating to the new coronavirus infections, as well as the high vaccination rates recorded nationwide.

These measures shall include the gathering of 50 people or less in closed spaces, and no more than 100 people in open spaces; however, exceeding those numbers is only deemed legal upon obtaining an authorization delivered by the competent authorities, a government communiqué revealed.

These measures shall also allow all means of public transportation to use up to 75% of their capacity, at a time where theaters, cinemas, cultural centers, libraries, museums and monument sites, are to be limited to 50% only.

Wedding receptions are to use up to 50% of their capacities as long as the number of guests is estimated at 100 or less, the communiqué stated, noting that access to beaches and swimming pools will also be granted with the emphasis on respecting social-distancing.

In order to successfully implement these measures, the government urges all citizens to fully and rigorously comply with all of the preventive measures announced thereby, most notably those related to social distancing, hygiene and the wearing of face masks.
