Former Moroccan MP and House of Councillors’ President, Mohamed Cheikh Biadillah, urged the European Union MPs – through a formal correspondence – to interfere with Spain’s reckless policies, aimed at using the current immigration crisis as a pretext to the latter’s ongoing violations vis-à-vis Morocco’s territorial integrity.
Biadillah issued the aforementioned correspondence in his capacity of President to the Moroccan-European Parliamentary Friendship Group, as a response to the hostile attempts led by numerous European parties in order to sabotage the ties linking both counterparts.
In his correspondence, Biadillah recalled Morocco’s support to Spain throughout the Catalan crisis, while blaming Madrid for backing polisario separatists inside Algeria, especially since allowing the so-called Brahim Ghali to enter Spain through a forged Algerian passport.
Biadillah also stated that Morocco’s immigration policies are legit, and that the latter is fully committed to its bilateral relations with the EU, provided their cooperation with regard to illegal immigration, terrorist threats and transnational organized crime.
Within the same context, Biadillah denounced the way certain European MPs tend to exploit the Moroccan-Spanish crisis as to bring about other European parties into the scene, noting that things only escalated upon Ghali’s illegal entry to the Schengen area via forged documents, in order to receive treatment at Logroño hospital.
In conclusion, Biadillah called on European MPs to engage responsibly in strengthening the strategic relations linking the Kingdom of Morocco to the European Union, thus participate in resolving this unprecedented bilateral crisis.
