The Head of PAM’s Team within the House of Representatives, Rachid El Abdi, addressed a written question to the Delegate Minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad, with regard to the mismanagement marking MRE’s return to Morocco.
“Moroccans living abroad were thrilled to learn about the reasonable prices adopted by airline companies (by virtue of Royal Order), as well as the significant increase in flight numbers in order for the latters to visit their families”, El Abdi stated in his correspondence, noting that however, most MREs encountered reservation-related issues due to the high demand on RAM’s checkpoints and website, provided that flights linking Morocco to France, Italy, Belgium and the Netherlands, have been fully booked throughout July.
El Abdi also stressed that the ongoing mismanagement has brought upon a series of questions with regard to MREs from Europe and Gulf countries alike, for the latters were nowhere to be mentioned on the tickets discount list, pointing that the exclusion of Gulf countries from such facilities is quite unfair, given the set of measures to be applied on those arriving from the east, for they are required to spend a 10 day quarantine period in a series of hotels assigned by the authorities to be paid by travellers themselves, whether they happen to be vaccinated or not.
Within this context, El Abdi urged the ministry in charge to adopt new measures to initiate more flights from and into the aforementioned European destinations, while providing reasonable prices and suitable conditions.
“The terms and conditions surrounding MRE’s return to Morocco, coming from Gulf countries, shall be reviewed as well”, he added.
