Crisis – The Arab Parliament to hold an emergency session in response to the EP’s decision against Morocco

The Arab Parliament is expected to hold, on Wednesday, an emergency session in Cairo, to discuss the European Parliament’s decision vis-à-vis the kingdom of Morocco, with regard to the latter’s immigration policies.

“This emergency session will be held in support of the kingdom of Morocco upon the European Union’s false accusations”, the Arab Parliament’s Speaker, Adel Al Asoomi, said in a press release on the side-lines of the preparatory meetings for the sixth plenary session, scheduled this Saturday, at the Arab League’s General Secretariat.

“The Arab Parliament has urged its European counterpart to not interfere in the crisis between Spain and Morocco”, El Asoomi stressed, noting that the European Union’s provocative positions with regard to Arab world issues – most importantly its latest decision against Morocco – has caused Arab nations to set up a meeting in order to discuss all aspects surrounding such declarations.

It is noteworthy that throughout the preparatory meetings, the Committee on Foreign Affairs and National Security is set to discuss the latest political and security developments in the Arab world as well as the latter’s joint action in this regard, in addition to the observations by the Arab Councils and Parliaments with regard to the draft law on the protection and promotion of cybersecurity in Arab countries.
