Upon finishing his studies at Al Wifaq primary school in 1967, Ouahbi joined Soulaimane Roudani high school where he obtained his baccalaureate degree. Later on, He moved to Rabat, and most precisely to Mohammed V University, where he earned a B.A in law by the year 1989.

+ A long career in politics +

Ouahbi began his political career in 1976 as part of the young socialist movement, before joining the Socialist Union of Popular Forces (USFP), following Mehdi Ben Barka’s path.

By the time the late Ahmed Benjelloun created the Socialist Democratic Vanguard Party (PADS) in 1989, young Ouahbi joined the veteran in defending freedoms and human rights as a lawyer.

As of 2010, Ouahbi has been engaged in the dynamic for change and socio-political reforms initiated by Morocco’s monarch. During that time, he decided to join the Authenticity and Modernity Party which he chaired by 2020.

As a lawyer, Ouahbi pleaded for prominent causes and won famous trials, including the ones related to 1989-1990 protests, as well as the cleansing campaign led by the authorities in 1996.

His affiliation to the Party of Authenticity and Modernity (PAM) granted him a seat within the House of Representatives (Northern Taroudant) following the 2011 legislative elections.

Ouahbi’s political persona led his fellow militants to name him Head of PAM’s parliamentary group, President of the justice committee and vice-chairman of the House of Representatives.

His advocacy for the people of his constituency earned him a second term upon the legislative elections of 2016.
