Ouahbi: The elections shall be held in due time, in full respect of the precautionary measures in force

“The elections shall be held on time in accordance with the constitutional stipulations”, PAM Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, stated on the side-lines of a live TV broadcast on Al Aoula channel, that aired on August 05, 2021, pointing out that electors are required to adhere to the precautionary measures in force, in order to prevent the pandemic from spreading further.

Within this context, Ouahbi noted that several political parties made “fatal mistakes” upon their electoral rallies, claiming that only those deemed unprepared tend to postpone the elections.

Ouahbi also stated that PAM has been preparing for the elections since day one, for the party tended to form several committees in the process, thus resulting in the appointment of politburo member, Samir Koudar, to serve as Director General to the party’s electoral campaign, as of August 04, 2021.

“I tend to meet my fellow militants’ aspirations by winning the elections”, he added.

“Earning a leading governmental spot and becoming able to manage the state’s internal and external affairs requires meeting certain conditions”, Ouahbi revealed, noting that ever since its creation, the party has always been committed to implement the true principles of democracy, and improve relations with the rest of Morocco’s parties.

In this respect, PAM’s chief declared that holding a National Council session under the current circumstances is quite difficult, provided that the Basic Law in force stipulates voting by a “raise of hands”, which is deemed ill-advised due to the pandemic, claiming at the same time that PAM has been transparent all along, despite its reportedly heated debate with PJD, upon which, the party did not fail to break the mutual respect both parties have for one another.
