PAM Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, stated that women’s contribution to Morocco’s political life represents a cornerstone to both democracy and development, stressing that female militants are to play major and influential roles during the next legislative term.
“I am both morally and ethically committed to the restructuration of women’s organizations within our party, in order to ensure their Independence and effectiveness”, Ouahbi revealed on the side-lines of his communicative meeting with PAM female militants within Fez-Meknes region, on Saturday, August 07, 2021.
PAM’s chief has also recalled PAM’s consistent and clear position with regard to female representation since the party’s creation in 2008, noting that PAM has always stood in support of female representatives within PAM’s politburo and organizational bodies, as has been stipulated in the political parties’ organizational law.
“PAM is the only political party in Morocco to elect a female president to its national council for two consecutive terms”, he added.
Within the same context, Ouahbi emphasized the role of women in rural areas, provided their economic and social contributions to life in general, noting that PAM denounces all sorts of marginalization that Moroccan women have been subject to in both urban and rural areas.
“We shall hereby recognize women’s contribution to economic, social, political and educational life, and shall adhere to their right to work, as well as their ability to engage in professional integration and decision-making”, Ouahbi declared.
