PAM Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, stated that Morocco’s Prime Minister, Saad-Eddine El Othmani, should have conveyed to King Mohammed VI, the need to layoff several Ministers due to their involvement in cases relating to the excessive abuse of power, and therefore hold them accountable for that matter.
“The opposition has failed to submit a censorship petition against Moulay Hafid Elalamy’s Ministry when an unjustified 45.2 million dirhams vanished into thin air”, Ouahbi revealed on the side-lines of Hespress program, the road to the 2021 elections, claiming that Akhannouch’s 17 billion report should have prompted El Othmani’s government to suspend both Ministers from duty.
“I have deliberately discussed the need to submit a censorship petition with PAM’s leadership and Istiqlal SG, Nizar Baraka; however, the latter suggested that such a submission shall only bring upon a political crisis, which may require forming a new government and appointing a new PM”, Ouahbi added.
“The right to censorship petitions is sound and valid, however, it shall require political maturity”, PAM’s chief pointed out.
With regard to PAM’s positive results during the professional chambers’ elections, Ouahbi claimed that his party “made the cut” without seeking any support from others, noting that PAM has proven once again to be a stand-up party, despite the rumours stipulating the latter’s organizational and political impasse.
“We managed to achieve honorable results without seeking any political support or financial funding”, Ouahbi declared.
In his response to whether PAM party sought support during the last elections, Ouahbi told Hespress journalist/interviewer: “I have already told you what I think, however, you are free to make your own assumptions”.
