Politburo statement :
PAM politburo held a remote meeting under the chairmanship of the party’s Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, on August 30, 2021, to discuss the latest political developments in Morocco, as well as the preparations for the upcoming elections.
For starters, PAM politburo members expressed their high regard for King Mohammed VI’s most recent speech, thus reflecting HM’s strategic and wise vision, in the prospect of establishing profound neighbourly relations, in line with Morocco’s territorial integrity and people’s interests.
Within the same context, PAM politburo members praised HM’s keenness on maintaining the historical relations bringing together Morocco and Spain, as well as the brotherly relations between Morocco and Algeria.
In this respect, PAM politburo members welcomed the Spanish government’s alternative in the prospect of re-establishing its friendly relations with Morocco through honesty, dialogue and collaboration, however, they expressed their regret over Algeria’s stubborn policies, for the Algerian regime has deliberately suspended its relations with Morocco, instead of opting for rational measures that tend to protect the interests of both countries’ populations.
With regard to PAM’s electoral campaign; and by virtue of PAM politburo’s reported data in this respect; and in light of the latest electoral developments in terms of human capital and new communicative means, PAM politburo shall hereby express its regret over the continuous electoral breaches and imbalances, thus stipulating the following:
First: We shall denounce the use of unjustified funding throughout the elections, with the purpose of undermining our fellow candidates and everting their positions, by deliberately overlooking the principles of equity and fair competition.
Second: We shall denounce the acts of assault and violence suffered by our respective candidates in several regions, and shall call on the legal authorities to intervene accordingly to protect our candidates and pursue those involved in such acts for they tend to jeopardize Morocco’s democratic path.
Third: We shall praise the enormous efforts made by Morocco’s legal authorities to ensure the best possible conditions throughout the elections despite the uprising coronavirus concerns, however, we shall warn against the legal breaches committed by a few authority figures, by organizing support rallies in favor of several electoral candidates without others.
Fourth: We shall call on all parties, political actors, living forces, and electoral institutions, to stand in support of Morocco’s democratic path, and address all despicable acts in this respect.
In conclusion, we shall call on all PAM militants to engage in the electoral campaign responsibly, while adhering to the organizational laws in force and committing to all precautionary measures recommended by the competent authorities. We shall also call on our respective candidates to respect their opponents, in the interest of Morocco’s democratic path.
Our militants’ perseverance, strong-will and responsible mobilization, have granted our party a distinguished position nationwide; therefore, we strongly believe in PAM’s ability to win the elections on September 08, 2021.
