The Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM) has recently nominated fellow militant, Abderrahim Bouazza, to serve as the party’s regional list deputy within Chefchaouen province, during the upcoming elections.
Bouazza is known for his distinguished communicative skills and respected field work, for he has always been keen on meeting people’s aspirations by approaching them in their homes and respective towns, especially those living in mountains and rural areas, where fragility and isolation rule over pretty much everything else.
Born and raised in Chefchaouen, Bouazza spent his entire life between the region’s corridors, learning about his fellow citizens’ concerns and aspirations.
+ Eagerness to serve the community +
Bouazza was born in 1974 in the small rural commune of Bani Samih (Chefchaouen province). He received his primary education in the eastern city of Oujda, before moving to Tetouan to complete his secondary and high school studies.
Later on, Bouazza obtained a B.A in in law from Sidi Mohamed Ben Abdellah University (Fez) in 1998, and was awarded his first ever job as a member of the Ministry of Interior’s board of administrators, where he started as an administrative and civil status official, before getting promoted to president of the human resources’ division back in his native town.
Bouazza’s eagerness to serve the interests of Bani Samih community led him to run for the 2003 communal elections, upon which he won the presidency of the communal council.
During his term, Bouazza decided to join PAM and was nominated by the party in 2009 for the communal elections once again. He was then elected president of Bani Samih’ communal council for the second time in a row, thus being able to carry on his earlier projects relating to water supply, electricity, infrastructure, health and education.
+ PAM achieved positive results during the 2015 election +
In September 2015, Bouazza managed to obtain his best ever electoral results, for he was granted a third term as president of Bani Samih’s communal council upon receiving 21 of the 27 possible votes. In fact, Bouazza’s successful campaign granted him Chefchaouen’s regional council presidency as well.
Bouazza has also served as a member of “Sahel” and “Al Taawoun” communal groups between 2013 and 2018, and was entrusted with the vice-presidency of Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima communal councils.
With regard to his performance as a member of PAM, Bouazza served as party MP for 3 consecutive mandates, and was elected regional secretary within El Jebha district in 2014.
It is noteworthy that PAM achieved positive results during the 2015 elections, for the party earned presidency over 8 communes within Chefchaouen province, and was represented by 147 communal councilors in this respect.
