Morocco’s Agriculture Investment Opportunities Highlighted in Dubai Expo 2020

Morocco’s potential and investment opportunities were presented at a conference organized in the framework of the Moroccan Economic Week at Dubai’s Expo 2020, during which an emphasis was made on the Green Morocco Plan’s achievements and Génération Green 2020-2030 strategy.

This conference, which was organized by the ministry of Agriculture with the participation of the Agricultural Development Agency (ADA), has addressed a number of topics concerning the achievements of Morocco’s Green Plan, launched in 2008, as well as the potential for investment in this sector.

In this regard, Redouane Arrach, Strategy and Statistics Director at the ministry of Agriculture, highlighted Morocco’s Green Plan’s achievements and the agriculture sector’s aspirations under the Génération Green strategy.

+ The consolidation of the Green Morocco Plan’s accomplishments +

This new development strategy was based on the consolidation of the Green Morocco Plan’s accomplishments, in addition to the new aspirations dictated by national and international economy changes, said Arrach.

For his part, ADA Director General El Mahdi Arrifi focused on the partnership between the state and the private sector in the agricultural sector and the Agency’s role in promoting agricultural investment, in addition to green investment’s new challenges.

The partnership between the state and the private sector aims to attract domestic and foreign investment in agriculture, in order to better exploit the available arable land, to create a high added value, to contribute to the development of the sector’s basic production chains and to create job opportunities, he added.

+ A specific and effective 10-year vision +

The business climate in the Moroccan agricultural sector is promising and is characterized by a special incentive system, skilled and qualified human resources, easy access to foreign markets, a system of subsidized financing and an appropriate regulatory framework, Arrifi pointed out.

For her part, Morocco Foodex Managing Director, Ghita El Ghorfi, noted the importance of highlighting the sustainability of the Moroccan food system, which is among the most crucial issues at the moment given the global climate conditions.

Morocco has adopted a specific and effective 10-year vision through the Green Morocco Plan supported today by the Génération Green strategy, which will provide new investment opportunities in Morocco, she stressed.
