Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid, Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication received yesterday Monday, November 1, a delegation representing the Moroccan press syndicate SNPM and President and members of the executive bureau of print media journalists’ association of social works.
Minister Bensaid, during his meeting with the President and members of the SNPM national bureau, raised many issues that interest journalists professionals, especially what concerns their financial and social conditions.
The Minister highlighted the importance of the media and its role in society, on the ground that it is a public service, carries out a sublime message of informing national public opinion and playing its role as an institution for social education inside the society; listening carefully to the SNPM points of view in relations with the subvention system dedicated to national media enterprises and the contents of social agreement, while expressing his understanding of the press syndicate requests regarding subvention system and announcing his readiness to examine the dossier and give follow up answers.
Minister Mehdi Bensaid received on the same day, President and members of the association of print media journalists’ social works, who have presented a number of proposals about mainly improving financial and social conditions of journalists working for national media institutions and expanding services of the association.
Minister Bensaid expressed his full readiness for common action, his examining all the proposals being presented; and getting down to work on a practical program aimed at improving social and financial conditions of media women and men.
