Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, Minister of Justice, has called on lawyers bar associations to open channels for dialogue and common action for the sake of law implementation, confirming that the Justice Ministry is eager to apply the decision to present vaccination pass to have access to courts of justice.

Minister Ouahbi’s statement has come in his response to two questions by the RNI team and the Social Justice Group about access to courts of justice by lawyers, judiciary staff and attendants, during the oral questions session held at the Council of Counselors last Tuesday, December 28, 2021.

Minister Ouahbi stated “The Parliament has adopted the endorsement of the decree number 2.20.292 about special rules regarding the state of sanitary emergency and measures of their announcement; and the text comes within the framework of emergency protective measures taken by our country to limit the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic”, adding “This decree stipulates in its article three that the government takes all necessary measures required by this situation, according to decrees, organizational and administrative decisions announced in circulars and communiqués”, highlighting that the government has previously issued a communiqué to endorse vaccination pass to have access to public and semi-public administrative premises.

Minister Ouahbi added that “The Ministry of Justice has issued in this regard a common circular by the President delegate of the Higher Council of the judicial authority and the King’s general attorney President of the Public Prosecutor Office, on the ground of the constitutional court decision, which provides that managing administrative and financial issues is a common space for cooperation and coordination between the executive and judiciary authorities”, making clear that the common communication has permitted a ten-days period sensitization to allow judges, staff, members of the defense, litigants and remaining of courts’ visitors to present the above mentioned vaccination pass.
