Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi presided over a working session to install members of the National Commission to apply the UNSC sentences related to terrorism

Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, Minister of Justice, presided on Wednesday, January 5, 2022, over a working session to install the national commission in charge of applying the sentences as stipulated by the UNSC resolutions, in relation with terrorism and weapons proliferation and funding, and also to directly launch its mission.

​The installment of this commission has come in implementation of article 32 of the law 12.18 provisions which complete penal code provisions and the law 43.05 related to the fight against money laundering which was adopted by the two houses of Moroccan Parliament during its last session.

​This article has stipulated the creation of a national commission to be in charge of implementing fines sentences as stipulated by the UNSC resolutions in relation with terrorism, weapons proliferation and funding; and its constitution and means of working should be decided by decrees assigned to government authority in charge of justice, as well as its constitution which includes various government sectors, authorities and other public institutions.

​The installment ceremony of this commission was attended by the first President of the court of appeal, President delegate of the Higher Judiciary authority council, General Attorney of the court of appeal, President of the General Prosecutor Office, the Wali of Bank Al Maghrib (Morocco’s central bank), President of the national body for financial data, the CEO of the National Agency for Real Estate Preservation and Mapping, in addition to representatives from several government sectors, bodies and institutions.
