Clarification – Mr. Ouahbi has frozen « all activities” at his lawyer’s office since his appointment at the Ministry of Justice portfolio

According to a source from lawyers office, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has actually “frozen all his activities in relation with lawyers profession”, since the date of his appointment as Minister of Justice at the current government, adding that management of the office is done by jurists who work at that office within the framework of legal contracts which associate the office with several ministries and public institutions for over 20 years.

The claims being published about that regard by info site “Siyassi” are “false and unfounded, and it’s excluded categorically that Mr. Ouahbi’soffice could have received MAD 100.000 from the Ministry of Higher Education”, added the same source.

On the other hand, the same source hasaffirmed that Mr. Ouahbi does not live in a function house pertaining to the Ministry of Justice, noting that the Ministry does not allocate function houses first, underlining that “Lawyer Ouahbi is renting an ordinary house and pays his rents fees with his own money.”

Note also that Lawyer Ouahbi has previously pleaded, free of charge, in favour the journalist who has published those claims in “Siyassi” against him and that was in a lawsuit – during the previous government- for which honoraries were estimated at MAD 2 million.

In the same context, the source has explained to « Siyassi » that the fact of reporting that Ouahbi has offered to the Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation a luxurious Mercedes is nothing but rumours and that concerns putting at the availability of the Ministry of Higher Education a car for receiving its VIP guests, and that is a current matter between ministries, particularly during the organization of conferences and international meetings.
