Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi pursues his working and brotherly visit to the Gulf countries, Egypt and Jordan, with a meeting on Wednesday morning September 28, 2022, with Minister of Justice and Legal Affairs in the Sultanate of Oman, Dr. Abdullah Bin Mohamed Bin Said Saidi, at his department office.
Minister of Justice meeting, according to a communiqué issued by his staff, was an occasion for Minister Ouahbi to brief his Omani counterpart about Moroccan experiences in the justice field, the axis of the broad and deep reform undertaken by the judiciary system, which is considered as a strategic and structured major project for the Moroccan Kingdom; presenting different important phases achieved by the Moroccan Kingdom in terms of judiciary reforms and at the level of legislation and deep amendments which reinforce both women and child’s rights; and also to ensure fair trials and implementing the principles and values of human rights. Minister Ouahbi’s presentation has also touched on courts’ infrastructures and digitization, in addition to sustainable training programs for justice staff.
From his side, the Omani Minister of Justice has welcomed Minister Ouahbi’s current visit, which he has considered as an important one from Moroccan brothers, informing the Moroccan Minister of Justice, the Moroccan Kingdom’s Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, Mr. Tareq Lahssissine and the accompanying delegation about the most important developments being witnessed by the Sultanate in the judiciary field.
The meeting was also an opportunity to talk about deepening links of strong bilateral relationships based on mutual affection and respect, and desire to highlight the level of cooperation in the judiciary field to aspire to the ambitions of brotherly Moroccan and Omani peoples and to achieve the strong desire of leaders of both countries, His Majesty King Mohammed VI and Sultan Haytham Bin Tareq Al Said.
Both sides have agreed on exchanging expertise and experiences between officials from both countries’ ministries ahead of preparing bilateral cooperation projects agreements in the judiciary sector to extend additional communication bridges between the two peoples.
Minister Ouahbi’s visit to the Sultanate of Oman is the sixth leg of a tour to the region to meeting his counterparts from KSA, the Kingdom of Bahrain, UAE, Kuwait, and Qatar; those visits made by Minister Ouahbi aim at deepening links of established brotherhood and cooperation among those countries and make gains from experiences between those countries and the Moroccan Kingdom in the judiciary field.
