On the occasion of the election of the Moroccan Kingdom by the world association office of women judges, as a host country for the sixteenth conference on the topic “women judges: Achievements and challenges”, Minister Ouahbi and Mrs. Johns were keen to scrutinize and examine all preparatory and logistics aspects of the conference expected to take place between May 11 and 14, 2023 in Marrakech, with the sponsor of the Ministry of Justice, the Higher Judiciary Council and the Attorney General Office.
The conference will host the participation of about 800 women judges and 200 participants both women and men from 100 countries, many world NGOs and representatives from UN agencies, for the sake of reinforcing exchange of expertise and experiences among concerned countries; and developing strategies at the national regional and international level to advance conditions of women judges.
It’s worth mentioning that the union of Moroccan women judges (UMWJ) constitutes the first Arab branch of the world association of women judges.
