Parliamentarian deputy, Moulay Hicham Al Mouhajiri, considered that the implementation of the new investment charter will face many obstacles, due to a number of compulsions, on their top, subvention granted to enterprises.
Deputy Al Mouhajiri made an intervention last Monday, October 17, 2022 at the House of Representatives about investments issue which was raised in His Majesty’s speech at the opening session of Parliament, saying “His Majesty’s speech was very clear and before he talked about encouraging investments, he has raised the problem of lefting obstacles.”
Mr. Al Mouhajiri has stated that the new investment charter will offer subvention to enterprises; however, that will remain insufficient if subvention will be ignored at the national level, as opposed to concentration of regional subvention, reminding that His Majesty has talked in his speech about the creation of 500 thousands jobs, which means 500 thousands families, and so this would help providing housing and other health services and education; and “if this won’t be achieved we will follow on the steps of some Asian countries and will be compelled to set up poverty belts such as what is happening right now in Tangier and Casablanca”, said Al Mouhajiri.
Parliamentarian deputy Al Mouhajiri has also given the example of Chichaoua province as a model, pointing out that the factory created in 2008 on a surface about 50 hectares at the level of this province has created zero job opportunity until now”; that’s because Chichaoua is located between two poles, Agadir and Marrakech, which Al Mouhajiri sees as prerequisite to reformulate the policy of subvention granted to enterprises in the context of the new investment charter.
