PAM Politburo communiqué

PAM Politburo held an attendance meeting, presided over by Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, last Monday, November 14, at the party headquarters in Rabat, dedicated to discuss new developments at the national political scene and the party’s organizational issues; and following up lengthy and responsible discussions of issues raised by the Secretary General, PAM Politburo has decided the following:

Has highly praised deep connotations included in His Majesty’s speech on the occasion of the 47thanniversary of the Green March, in which His Majesty has outlined the Moroccan complement visionregarding the Moroccan Sahara issue, and which brings together political and diplomatic action in defending the justice of our national cause at different international forums, and between strong economic, social and human developments being achieved in the Moroccan Sahara; and therefore to express our big pride towards those gains that represent a leverage for a better prosperous future to our national cause and our brothers in the Southern provinces
  PAM Politburo feels deeply proud towards constructive and positive positions expressed by the international community in favor of the Moroccan Kingdom in the field of reinforcing democracy and human rights through the presentation of national periodic report of human rights in Geneva last week, which was the subject of praise by more than 120 countries regarding the Moroccan Kingdom’s achievements in terms of reinforcing and safeguarding human rights, thanks to His Majesty’s firm legal determination.
PAM Politburo takes into consideration the size of foreign economic challenges which put pressure on our country and which have been reflected greatly on Moroccan citizens daily living conditions and in this context, it has expressed its gratitude for tremendous efforts made by the government to support and subsidy Moroccan citizens’ purchasing power, calling on the government to reinforce the protection of national food sovereignty through diversifying sources of imports and strengthen mechanisms of social subvention to vulnerable communities, speed up the implementation of social protection which will undoubtedly play a more efficient role especially in these hard social conditions witnessed by the world with their implications on the Moroccan Kingdom.
The Politburo recalls with big concern climate changes occurring in the geographic area where Morocco is located, and their repercussions on our country which has become threatened by those fierce natural phenomena such as drought and deterioration of ecosystem and scarcity of drinking water; and therefore, calls on the government to pay emergency interest and awareness to climate challenges on Morocco, in order to take preemptive measures to face climate changes and challenges.
The Politburo highly praises and salutes the government for its reform willingness in social justice and taxation, and strengthening transparent measures in investment, moralizing urbanization, and deepening educational reforms, calling on it for pursuing those reforms with a collective participative solidarity approach among various majority components.
Regarding parliamentary matters, PAM Politburo has talked at length about important monitoring role played by PAM MPs in improving the budget law bill and participating responsibly at the discussion of the budget bill at different sectorial commissions and the voting on it; on this occasion, Politburo calls on PAM members at the Second House also to play their monitoring role and react positively with the party’s moral and political commitments inside the government majority coalition.
In the same context and in full consideration to constitutional, political and strong moral responsibility of our party towards our partners in  the government majority, and in full collective commitment to respect the majority charter, the Politburo has stopped at the report of the party’s presidency about PAM MP Hicham Al Mouhajiri’s intervention through which he has violated the principles, regulations and orientations of the party in terms of its alliances, and his unrespect to political and constitutional commitment which binds our party with the government majority, has decided to freeze membership of concerned MP from PAM Politburo and submit his dossier to the party’s interested commission in charge of arbitration and ethics.
Concerning the party’s organizational matter, the party’s Politburo has taken notes of the party’s organizational situation in Fez and Casablanca and has talked about latest developments to pursue the party’s regional conventions, including in the area of Fez Meknes next Saturday after big success recorded previously in Tangier-Tetouan-Al Hoceima area, Rabat-SaléKenitra and Souss Massa area.
The Politburo, has praised the progress being achieved at the level of two preparatory committees about holding two institutional conventions for PAM women organization and PAM Youth organization.
