Minister Leila Benali: We are expecting to increase storage capacity of oil products to 584 thousand cubic meters

Minister of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, Mrs. Leila Benali, has stated that the Ministry has actually increased the amount of investments regarding oil products, highlighting that it’s expected to increase storage capacity of those products to 584 thousand cubic meters, with an investment estimated at MAD 2 billion in 2023.

Minister Benali has disclosed during an oral question session at the House of Representatives, attended on her behalf, by Minister Delegate in Charge of Relations with Parliament, that the Ministry has also worked on setting up an emergency plan to meet the needs for natural gas, especially from the two plant stations of Tahadart and Ain Beni M’tahhar to produce power, and meet also the needs for industrial sector.

Concerning power, the government official has stressed that a series of means have been taken to ensure the storage to be sufficient to produce power out of various products, in addition to develop and elaborate power production projects between 2022 and 2026, in cooperation of the National Office for Electricity and Drinking Water/ONE.
