Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has reiterated that he is not at all against social media and their users, but he is against “some aspects” of their use when it comes to violation of citizen’s private life and intimacy, then this turns into committing an offend which requires punishment and accountability.
Mr. Ouahbi, who was the guest of 2M TV show “With Ramadani’ last Sunday evening, January 8, 2023, stated “I have some reservations and objections towards those kinds of wrong use of social media since the goal is to protect citizens from some individuals who resort to defamation and fake news and sometimes pretend falsely to be journalist (knowing that journalism is well organized legally speaking).
Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has talked about the major reform projects the Justice Ministry is working on, including an e-platform to communicate and establish exchange with Al Adouls to digitize measures and procedures of marriage act, the fact which allows interested persons in marriage to have access that platform using only their identity card to get social data and information provided by national security. The e-platform concerns “marriage permission” and will be secured digitally so that only husband, or wife and the judge will be allowed to have access.
Minister Ouahbi has previously talked about providing food for persons in pretrial detention or police custody, clarifying that in urban areas, private catering companies will be in charge of that while in rural areas, Gendarmerie Royale will be responsible for that mission; also suitable clothing will be provided for detainees out of respect for judiciary institutions during court trials.
In conclusion, Minister Ouahbi has tackled the full government harmony and hard work around the clock to serve Moroccan citizens, stressing that there are great efforts from all government sectors to implement commitments and expected reform programs, adding that “President of the government defends me in all positions and he is aware of the size the sector’s responsibility which I manage, and I am satisfied by working with him along with other ministers.”
