Secretary General Ouahbi announced from Beni Mellal that PAM will encourage more women to run for elections and pave the way up for them at the level of leadership and responsibility

PAM Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has stated that “we will work hard as regard to family status code in accordance with the limits of our Islamic sharia/law, our religious convictions and social values to change women’s condition; and we will have the courage to bring about many changes, despite some opposing voices, to defend women rights and equality, and this is not in response to their great favor but women are our mothers, our sisters and our spouses.”

PAM SG added in his opening statement made during the party regional convention in Beni Mellal-Khenifra area, last Saturday, March 18, 2023 in Beni Mellal, that “we will encourage more women to run for upcoming elections so that we will afford some kind of an equality”, pointing out that women’s conditions in Morocco raise some problems related to economy, particularly that women ‘s role in this regard is more important but the outcome is very little in comparison with their role.

SG has reminded that he will review many regulations inside the Justice Ministry in relation with penal law and laws with other institutions and bodies, in implementation with His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s instructions to review family status code.

Mr. Ouahbi has reaffirmed that PAM has had the honor to propose a regional parliamentarian list for women agreed upon by Moroccan parties and therefore has become a rule and a reality.

“More is requested from us towards women, since their loyalty as mothers, sisters and spouses is an integral part of the loyalty to the nation and to our Islamic values and ethics; no one could give us lessons since we have our own ethics and values and we’d like just to bring about changes and review regulations”, said SG Mr. Ouahbi.
