Al Abdi: National strategy for development should be more comprehensive and up to current and upcoming challenges

President of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra area council, Mr. Rachid Al Abdi stated that regional conventions about sustainable development aim at opening a region al debate to update national strategy for sustainable development that should be more comprehensive and up to current and upcoming challenges.

Mr. Al Abdi added during an opening session of a regional convention about sustainable development in the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra area that since the endorsement of the national strategy for development in 2017, areas have taken the initiative along with some ministerial sectors, public institutions and territorial communes to actively and seriously integrate the process to meet current needs and support the capacity of coming generations for development and prosperity.

To meet those goals, Mr. Al Abdi has pointed out that the territorial rehabilitation of the Rabat-Salé-Kenitra area which was prepared according to a participative approach with various regional active players, has bet on a number of strategic options which come in the context of sustainable development goals such as reinforcing agriculture production, developing rural areas, building a firm industrial platform, establishing the foundations for an integrated and comprehensive regional tourism activity, reinforcing means of transportation and communication, preserving and protecting natural resources and reinforcing education and training system.
