During his recent working visit to Romania, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has held a series of meetings with high-level Romanian officials and has signed a protocol agreement for judiciary cooperation between both countries.
Minister Ouahbi’s first meeting was with his Romanian counterpart at the Ministry of Justice in Bucharest during which both officials have discussed means of reinforcing common cooperation in the legal and judiciary field and signed a judiciary cooperation protocol which will include several civil and penal clauses to fight organized crime sand prisoners’ exchange.
Minister Ouahbi’s second meeting was with the Romanian General Prosecutor during which both officials have discussed means of developing more justice and judiciary relationships and exchanging expertise between both countries. At the end of that meeting Minister Ouahbi has made a brief statement in which he has praised the “outstanding relationships between Morocco and Romania in the justice and judiciary field and exchange of detainees and alternative punishments”; highlighting that “Romania has a very positive position concerning our national cause and that both countries are determined to bring more progress in the legal and judiciary field through the signing of the judiciary cooperation protocol to reach out to fight electronic crime and exchange of prisoners between Morocco and Romania”.
