Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication Mr. Mohamed Mehdi Bensaid represented Morocco last Friday, July 28, 2023 in the opening of the 9th session of the Francophone games taking place in Kinshasa.
A communiqué issued by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication has informed that Mr. Bensaid, who was accompanied by Morocco’s Ambassador to Kinshasa and by a Moroccan delegation, has attended the opening ceremony presided over by President of the Democratic Congo Republic Félix Tshisekedi, President of Togo and a number of officials, Ambassadors and heads of foreign delegations.
The Ministry communiqué has pointed out that the opening ceremony has witnessed the passing of the Moroccan delegation participants who are participating in the cultural events which include drawing, sculpture, photography, singing, dancing, digital creativity, literature, story-telling and other skills with ball playing, giant dolls, hip hop, soccer (boys U-20), basket-ball (girls18-25 years), track and field games for persons in handicapped situation, cycling, freestyle and African wrestling, judo and ping pong.
According to the same communiqué, the Ministry has ensured to support the Moroccan participation at the cultural level by providing all human and material means to support the Moroccan participation, referring that Minister Bensaid has previously received in Rabat the Moroccan delegation prior to the trip to Kinshasa.
The 9th session of the francophone games will continue until August 6th and has brought together about 2500 youth between 18 and 35 representing 88 countries from all over the world among them Morocco which is participating in different sporty and cultural competitions.
