President of the Taroudant communal council Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi arrived early in the morning of Saturday, September 9, 2023 in Taroudant in a fact-finding visit to oversee and get informed about many neighborhoods and streets being badly damaged in the aftermath of the earthquake that struck Al Haouz area last Friday.
Following a working meeting held with members of the communal council at the city hall, Mr. Ouahbi has made a visit to many dwellings and some historical buildings which have been affected by the earthquake. Mr. Ouahbi has vowed to accelerate efforts in the near future to start reparation and restoration of all buildings which have been damaged due to the earthquake whose strength has reached 7 degree in the Richter scale.
President of Taroudant communal council Mr. Ouahbi has engaged in communication with local communities especially those who have been affected by the quake expressing his personal solidarity and the support of the communal council in this critical period promising the mobilization of the communal council materially and logistically to intervene along with the rest of other institutions to take part in the emergency first aid to injured persons and provide necessary support and assistance to local populations.
In the same context, Mr. Ouahbi has reaffirmed that the communal council is fully engaged in the efforts and intervention at the level of Taroudant provincial hospital which receives injured persons around the clock, and expressing gratitude to the efforts made by medical teams and also the material support by businessmen in favor of displaced communities coming from devastated villages as a result of the quake. Mr Ouahbi has stressed the communal council readiness to do everything to help alleviate the populations’ sufferings.
