Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi held on Saturday, September 23, 2023, at the rural Tamalukt commune in Taroudant area, a working meeting with social assistants responsible for helping earthquake-stricken populations to re-issue legal official documents they have lost as a result of the earthquake.
Minister Ouahbi has called on social assistants to offer information and legal orientation for the benefit of the earthquake victims amid a campaign dubbed “legal re-construction”, and to reach out to damaged populations and engaging with them in locally-speaking Amazigh language; the minister has recommended the social assistants to speed up the operation and help local communities issue their documents in the soonest possible time.
A group of social assistants started its mission last Friday to issue official documents such as marriage certificates, ID cards, property contracts and civil status registry.
The group made up of 18 social assistants coming from various Moroccan courts speaks Amazigh and therefore entertained perfectly well with local populations from those areas struck by the earthquake.
