In a statement to the press following a tripartite meeting last Friday September 29, 2023 at the Moroccan Kingdom Academy in Rabat, Minister of Justice Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi said that “this meeting is the first one after a meeting held with President of the Government and it was an occasion to reactivate common action among different components concerned with the major project of the family code status reform as being recommended by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.”
Minister Ouahbi stated that “a clear scenario was prepared about the roadmap the tripartite commission will work on in the near future”, saying that “next week we will be listening to official bodies before opening the floor to other organizations and civil society NGOs”.
Minister Ouahbi has emphasized the role of this committee made up by the Ministry of Justice, the Higher Council of the Judiciary Power and the Public Prosecutor’s Office, to give justice to Moroccan women in compliance with His Majesty’s instructions; pointing out that “the matter requires a reviewing of a number of issues which will be discussed, after listening to all concerned parties”; saying that “we hope to be at the level of His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s expectations and to give justice to Moroccan women”.
