Within the framework of preparations for the new parliament entry, PAM MPs teams held last Friday, October 13, 2023, a communicating meeting in Rabat with the party Politburo presided over by Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi.
After a lengthy discussion about main current economic, political and social issues, and other challenges facing our country, the Politburo has come up with the following points:
First: After listening to His Majesty King Mohammed VI’s speech at the opening session of the third legislative term last Friday, we praise His Majesty’s wise instructions on the necessity to pursue assistance and aid to families struck by the earthquake and to speed up rehabilitation and reconstruction process in the earthquake-stricken areas.
Second: Regarding international matters, we express our big concern about what is going on in Palestine, the killing and bloodshed of isolated civilians, and expressing at the same time, our solidarity with the Palestinian people in this ordeal. We also call on the international community to fully assume its responsibility for the protection of the Palestinian people, and for safeguarding its legitimate rights. We remind with big pride that the Moroccan Kingdom, under His Majesty’s leadership as President of Al Quds Committee, has remained adhered to the truce choice and to a broad peace process as the unique solution for the establishment of two states.
Third: Concerning national matters, we reiterate our deep appreciation about the great solidarity shown by the Moroccan people behind His Majesty to face the earthquake repercussions and impacts, and the immediate and responsible integration of all Moroccans, officials, elected bodies and NGOs associations to confront the earthquake impacts.
Fourth: We express our big pride for our country’s honor to organize the 2030 world cup and the 2025 African Nations Cup (CAN), which has come as a result of the international consideration for our country’s bright image and the fascinating achievement our national soccer team at the last world cup in Qatar; the fact which has reflected a very nice image of love for the country and symbiosis between family and the people. We will insist on contributing along with all concerned parties to be at the level of His Majesty’s expectations and to make of this soccer version a big historical event at all levels to achieve our country’s ambitions.
Fifth: We recall that the debate for this year’s budget bill comes at a very specific national and international context, as result of natural disasters such as the earthquake and two successive years of severe drought, with all the implications on international markets fluctuations due to wars and geostrategic conflicts in Ukraine and the Middle East; therefore, we call for the implementation and generalization of the major project of social protection as a priority for government’s upcoming program.
Sixth: We reiterate the necessity to respect the goals and charters principles to reinforce the majority cohesion, with the guarantee to practice our right for difference to play fully our role inside the Parliament.
