Ms. Iman Azizou, a member of the Political Bureau of the Authenticity and Modernity Party (PAM), affirmed that Morocco is facing major challenges that require a strong presence of women.
In her speech on behalf of the Political Bureau, delivered before the assembled women at the conference to reorganize the regional conference of the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s women’s wing in the Souss-Massa region on Saturday, June 29, 2024, Azizou said, “We do not want women who merely run for office at the local level; we want women who take on responsibility and manage local and regional public affairs.”
The member of the Political Bureau highlighted the significant presence—both in terms of quality and quantity—of women from the Souss-Massa region during the regional conference, addressing them by saying, “You are the future of the party, both regionally and nationally,” and adding, “The Souss-Massa region has produced daughters and sons who are fighting for it within government institutions, the legislature, and elected councils.”
Azizou considered that the regional meetings held by the Authenticity and Modernity Women’s Organization were only the beginning, and that the goal is to implement the regionalization advocated by His Majesty King Mohammed VI, may God assist him.
Azizou assured all the women present that the PAM includes women capable of shouldering responsibility and that the party’s doors are open to all women, to support its women in assuming decision-making positions. She praised the achievements and work of PAM women in the government, particularly the Minister of National Planning, Urban Development, Housing, and Urban Policy, who is respected by the opposition as much as by the majority, and noted that the same applies to the rest of the party’s women.
