On the afternoon of Monday, October 1, Mr. Mohamed Achrouro, head of the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s parliamentary group, met with members of the Coalition of Independent Accountants of Morocco at the House of Representatives to discuss the law regulating the profession of certified public accountant.
At the beginning of the meeting, the coalition members expressed their gratitude to Mr. Mohamed Asharouro for hosting them and for his prompt response to their request to hold the meeting. They asked the president and the Authenticity and Modernity Party team to support a proposed bill to amend Article 103 of Law 127.12, which regulates the profession of certified public accountant.
Members of the coalition explained that immediately following the implementation of the provisions of the second paragraph of Article 103 of the law regulating the profession of certified public accountant and the establishment of the professional organization of certified public accountants, it became apparent that the group of individuals who do not meet the conditions set forth in Article 102 and who were registered as independent professional accountants in the professional tax registry prior to July 1, 2015, following a nationwide review of the lists, consists of 2,139 independent professional accountants who were not included in the list of certified accountants.
Coalition members add that, given that the category of independent professional accountants includes a diverse range of qualifications and levels of experience, it is only fair that they be granted accreditation so they can subsequently join their colleagues as certified accountants, It is in this context that the proposal to amend Article 103 was made, coalition members emphasize.
For his part, Mr. Mohamed Achrouro thanked those present for their engagement and emphasized that the Authenticity and Modernity Party’s parliamentary group is open to all organizations and institutions and welcomes all proposals, noting that it considers the interests of the nation and its citizens when addressing them. In addressing the proposal from the Coalition of Independent Accountants in Morocco, Mohamed Achrouro reassured those present, stressing that their proposal would be submitted to the party’s leadership and the relevant committee for review and further discussion, and he urged attendees to continue communicating with the party whenever necessary to provide the required clarifications and explanations.
