Ahmed Al-Touizi, head of the PAM parliamentary group, called on the Minister of Tourism, Traditional Industry, and the Social and Solidarity Economy to expedite the construction of a world-class conference center capable of hosting 10,000 participants.
In additional remarks during the oral question period held today, Monday, April 29, Mr. Al-Touizi said, “Marrakech is a driving force for tourism, but it lacks a convention center capable of accommodating 10,000 participants or more, even though the world’s major tourist destinations have convention centers capable of accommodating such large numbers.”
The head of the parliamentary group added, “This has been a demand for more than ten years, and we hope this government will bring it to fruition,” noting that the Marrakech-Safi Regional Council and all government sectors are ready to contribute to the project’s implementation. Therefore, this project must be a priority for the ministry so that Marrakech can have a conference center that will positively impact both local and national tourism.
