الصحة العالمية تحذر من تواصل ارتفاع حالات الإصابة بكورونا للأسبوع السابع

أكدت منظمة الصحة العالمية أن حالات الإصابة بفيروس كورونا المستجد مستمرة في الارتفاع للأسبوع السابع على التوالي، حيث تم الإبلاغ عن أكثر من 4,5 مليون حالة إصابة جديدة الأسبوع الماضي.
وأفادت المنظمة أن عدد الوفيات الجديدة ارتفع للأسبوع الرابع على التوالي، بنسبة 7 في المائة مقارنة بالأسبوع الماضي، حيث تم الإبلاغ عن أكثر من 76.000 حالة وفاة جديدة، مشيرة إلى أن اللقاحات الحالية أظهرت فعالية منخفضة ضد متغيرات الفيروس، حتى لو ظلت الدراسات المعنية محدودة العدد.

واحتل الهند المرتبة الأولى من حيث عدد الإصابات بالفيروس والوفيات، حيث أبلغت البلاد عن 873.296 حالة جديدة، بزيادة قدرها 70 في المائة مقارنة بالأسبوع الماضي، فيما شهدت زيادة عدد الوفيات الجديدة بها بنسبة 51 في المائة، فيما جاءت الولايات المتحدة في المرتبة الثانية بزيادة قدرها 5 في المائة بلغت 468.395 حالة جديدة، بينما احتلت البرازيل المرتبة الثالثة بارتفاع 463.092 حالة جديدة.

وبخصوص الوفيات الجديدة الناجمة عن المرض على الصعيد العالمي، شهدت منطقة جنوب آسيا وجنوب شرق آسيا وغرب المحيط الهادئ ارتفاعات حادة مع إظهار دول غرب المحيط الهادئ زيادة بنسبة 189 في المائة في العدد، وتصدرت الفلبين بسجل قاتم بلغ 1321 حالة وفاة جديدة، بزيادة نسبتها 400 في المائة مقارنة بالأسبوع الماضي.
