الصحة العالمية: عدد الوفيات بسبب “كورونا” أكبر بثلاث مرات من الأرقام المعلنة رسميا

كشفت منظمة الصحة العالمية أن عدد الوفيات الناجمة عن فيروس كوفيد-19 أكبر بمرتين أو ثلاث مرات من الأرقام الرسمية المعلن عنها.

وأعلنت المنظمة، في تقريرها السنوي الصادر حول الإحصاءات الصحية العالمية، أن فيروس كورونا تسبب في 2020 بوفاة ثلاثة ملايين شخص سواء بشكل مباشر أو غير مباشر، في حين تشير الأرقام الرسمية إلى حوالى 1,8 مليون وفاة.

وأكدت سميرة أسماء، مساعدة المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة، أن هذه الحصيلة تطابق التقديرات المماثلة التي تنص جميعها على أن العدد الإجمالي للوفيات أكبر بمرتين إلى ثلاث مرات على الأقل مما تم الإبلاغ عنه رسميًا، مشيرة إلى أن الوباء تسبب حتى الآن بحسب أرقام منظمة الصحة “بحوالى ستة إلى ثمانية ملايين” وفاة مباشرة وغير مباشرة.

وشددت ذات المسؤولة على أن وباء كوفيد يشكل خطرا كبيرا على صحة الشعوب ورفاهها في العالم بأسره، موضحة أن منظمة الصحة كانت تعمل مع الدول “من أجل تبيان الحصيلة البشرية الحقيقية للوباء حتى نكون مستعدين بشكل أفضل للحالة الطارئة المقبلة”.
