On Wednesday, May 6, the Ait Ourir Municipal Council unanimously approved the various items on the agenda for the May session during a meeting attended by Municipal Council President Ahmed Al-Touizi, the city’s mayor, and council members.
The session served as an important opportunity to review a number of structural development projects that have entered the implementation phase, as part of a vision aimed at revitalizing the city and improving living conditions for its residents.
In this context, the project to construct the Wadi al-Zat Corniche Road has attracted particular attention, given its expected role in alleviating traffic congestion on the main street and improving traffic flow within the city.
The Council also approved a project to build eight neighborhood soccer fields with artificial turf, in a move aimed at strengthening sports infrastructure and making it more accessible to young people, thereby encouraging participation in sports and fostering local talent.
The approval also covered projects related to the development of the sewerage network and the main street, as well as the upgrading of several residential neighborhoods through the construction of roads and sidewalks and the improvement of street lighting, in line with the city’s urban expansion needs.
In the cultural sphere, the Council approved a project to establish a multimedia library, which is expected to be a significant addition to the local cultural scene and provide a suitable space for reading, research, and access to knowledge.
These projects are part of the development initiative led by the Municipal Council, chaired by Al-Touizi, which aims to achieve balanced and sustainable urban development that meets the aspirations of residents and keeps pace with the rapid changes the city is undergoing at various levels.
