Abdelatif Miraoui, Minister of Higher Education, Scientific Research, and Innovation, met with Ms. Pascale Dery, Quebec’s Minister of Higher Education, on Wednesday, November 1, 2023, at the Quebec City Convention Center.
The meeting provided an opportunity for both sides to discuss the prospects and means for developing bilateral cooperation in the fields of higher education and scientific research.
The meeting also provided an opportunity to discuss ways to develop mechanisms to support the mobility of the new generation of doctoral students and to enhance their soft skills.
It is worth noting that the special agreement on scientific research signed in 2022 between the Quebec Research Fund and the National Center for Scientific and Technical Research has enabled the funding of six joint research projects covering a range of topics, notably health sciences, climate change adaptation, and water management.
For the record, this meeting was organized on the sidelines of the Minister’s participation in the third edition of the International Week of Francophone Science, organized by the Francophone University Agency and the Government of Quebec from October 30 to November 3, 2023.
