Ms. Saliha Hajji, Vice President of the Eastern Region Council, participated in the proceedings of the first Regional Conference on Disability in the Eastern Region, organized by the Mohammed VI National Center (Oujda Regional Branch) to mark the 11th anniversary of the inauguration of the Mohammed VI National Center for Persons with Disabilities in Oujda by His Majesty King Mohammed VI.
In a speech delivered during the event, held in the conference hall of the Faculty of Medicine and Pharmacy in Oujda, Hajji praised the importance of the event, citing its theme and target audience, and noted that the Kingdom’s Constitution prohibits any discrimination based on gender or disability.
Hajji also emphasized the regional council’s commitment to supporting this group, based on their inclusion in advisory bodies through the provisions outlined in the framework documents that stipulate their representation. She noted that the agreement signed between the Oriental Region Council, the Ministry of Solidarity, Social Integration, and Family, and the Oriental Region Governorate—which addresses, in part, the issue of homeless individuals and those with mental disabilities— provided for the construction of centers and other facilities to house them, as well as the purchase of a fully equipped mobile medical unit (SAMU) for this group.
