كوفيد-19.. منظمة الصحة العالمية تعرب عن قلقها من انتشار متحور “دلتا”

أعرب المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، تيدروس غيبريسوس، عن القلق من انتشار المتحور (دلتا) من فيروس كورونا المستجد (كوفيد-19) ووصوله إلى 85 بلدا على الأقل.

وقال غيبريسوس، في ندوة صحفية عبر التناظر المرئي من مقر المنظمة بمدينة جنيف السويسرية، إن “زيادات انتقال العدوى حول العالم تتزامن مع قيام بعض الدول بتيسير الإجراءات الاجتماعية”.

وأضاف قائلا “إن المزيد من الإصابات يعني دخول المزيد من المصابين إلى المستشفيات ما يزيد من إجهاد العاملين الصحيين والأنظمة الصحية كما يزيد من خطر الوفاة”.

وأكد أن “احتمال ظهور متحورات جديدة للفيروس وسيستمر الإبلاغ عنها شأنه شأن بقية الفيروسات، ولكن يمكننا منع ظهور المتحورات عن طريق منع انتقال العدوى”.

وأوضح “أن الأمر بسيط للغاية ويتلخص في أن المزيد من انتشار الفيروس يعني المزيد من متحوراته وكلما تراجعت معدلات انتشار كلما قلت متحوراته”، داعيا إلى استخدام جميع الأدوات المتاحة لمنع انتقال العدوى جنبا إلى جنب مع التوزيع العادل للقاحات.
