منظمة الصحة العالمية تكشف عن انخفاض عالمي في إصابات “كورونا” للأسبوع السابع على التوالي

كشف تيدروس أدهانوم غيبريسوس المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية، أن عدد الإصابات بكوفيد 19 حول العالم تميز بانخفاض للأسبوع السابع على التوالي، مبرزا أن إنهاء الوباء يتطلب تقديم اللقاح لـ70 في المائة من سكان العالم وهو ما يمثل 11 مليار جرعة لقاح.

ورحب المدير العام لمنظمة الصحة العالمية بالتزام مجموعة الدول السبع بتوفير 870 مليون جرعة لقاح على الأقل بحلول نهاية عام 2022، مشيرا إلى ضرورة تتبع التسلسل الجيني للفيروس للكشف السريع عن المتحورات، ومواصلة اتباع التدابير الصحية الوقائية والتباعد الجسدي.

وفي ذات السياق، نشرت منظمة الصحة العالمية في شهر مارس الماضي تقريرا لمجموعة من الخبراء، الذين زاروا مدينة ووهان الصينية للتعرف على أسباب منشأ فيروس كورونا، معتبرة أن تسرب الفيروس من المختبر فرضية “غير مرجحة كثيرا”، حيث رجحت أن يكون فيروس السارس- كوف 2 ينتقل إلى البشر من الخفافيش عبر حيوان آخر.
