PAM militant and politburo member, Rachid El Abdi, has been elected, on September 18, 2021, President to Rabat-Salé-Kenitra regional council.
El Abdi, who ran for the said position solely, managed to obtain 63 votes out of 71, upon the council’s electoral session.
The composition of the regional council’s executive office is as follows:
First Deputy: Said Benmbarek (RNI)
Second Deputy: Aziz El Hilali (Istiqlal Party)
Third Deputy: Adil El Ouardighi (PAM)
Fourth Deputy: Abdelghani Badie (RNI)
Fifth Deputy: Mounir El Rahoui (Istiqlal Party)
Sixth Deputy: Rachida Fadel (PAM)
Seventh Deputy: Mustapha Jouadi (RNI)
Eighth Deputy: Mohamed Hafid (Istiqlal Party)
Ninth Deputy: Nadia Rahmani (RNI)
Council Secretary: Karima Salama (PAM)
Vice-Secretary: Adel Ben Hamza (Istiqlal Party)
Upon his election as regional council President, El Abdi expressed his gratitude for his fellow council members for placing their trust in him, stressing that the regional council is expected to deal with a series of challenges that require the adaptation of a participatory approach, in order to live up to people’s aspirations.
It is noteworthy that El Abdi served during the last legislative term as party MP and President of PAM’s parliamentary team.
