Morocco / Algeria – PAM leader Abdellatif Ouahbi denounces Algerian TV channel « childish » attitude
PAM Secretary General, Abdellatif Ouahbi, denounced the “childish” attitude promoted by Algerian television channel, “Echourouk”, which tried to undermine the sacred values of the Kingdom of Morocco as well as the respect due to the Head of State.
“We are sincerely disappointed in the actions taken by Algerian channel “Echourouk” -a channel that is controlled by Algerian officials and financed by public monetary resources- for the latter tried to undermine Morocco’s ancestral institutions …”, Ouahbi wrote on his official Facebook page.
Ouahbi considered such behavior to be reprehensible, for it does not only undermine the respect due to the Head of State of a neighboring country, but also violates the most basic laws and principles …”.
“This irresponsible, reckless, childish and clumsy behavior, shall be strictly condemned, for it does not reflect the essence of our mutual culture”, PAM Secretary General added.
“We understand the gravity of the situation in Algeria at the moment, however, Morocco would never exploit such circumstances or use them for its advantage”, he recalled.
“The kingdom is keen not to accept Algeria’s misconduct towards its sacred institutions or figures, for Morocco has always been a friendly neighbor given the history that both countries share”, he stressed, inviting Algeria to do the same by respecting their neighborly relations, history and common links.
