Minister Ouahbi: Ministry of Justice services are proofreading the drafting of the penal code bill and improving its contents
Minister of Justice, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi has disclosed that the first bill drafting for a comprehensive and complete re-examination of a number of code bill regulations has been done.
Minister of Justice said in response to a written question submitted by a MP, that the Ministry of Justice is working right now on proofreading the bill drafting and improving its contents, by a technical committee made up of several judges and specialized executives in the penal field, in waiting for inviting various activists and contributors’ input from penal justice field.
About the reasons behind withdrawing the bill from Parliament, Mr. Ouahbi has clarified that the Ministry of Justice approach at the beginning was aimed at producing an integrated penal code bill, in full respect of the text structure and in protection of general philosophy that governs its provisions; however, the compulsions of legislative deadline have undermined the process.
