Ministry of Justice: National exam for lawyers takes place December 4, 2022

​National exam to exercise lawyers’ profession will take place next December 4, 2022, has announced the Ministry of Justice.

​According to the Ministry decision dated back to last September 14, the national exam will take place in several cities, Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Marrakech, Agadir, Beni Mellal, Errachidiya and Laayoune and will include two written tests with multiple choice questions and an oral test in Arabic and French.

​The first written test (3 hours) includes questions with four answers on topics related to judiciary system, civil and penal code procedures, while the second test (3 hours) is on questions about commitment and contracts regulations, penal code and administration.

​Regarding the oral test, the Ministry has made clear that this one will be about organic laws on judiciary organization, regulations about lawyers’ profession, family status or texts about social and business and codex of civil and penal procedures.

​Interested candidates, according to the Ministry note, should previously register on the Ministry’s website (www.justice.gov.ma) starting from Thursday September 15 up till October 4, 2022 before 16:30.

​A first list of candidates accepted for passing the two written tests will be published on the Ministry website starting from November 10, has underlined the Ministry’s note indicating that candidates who have not been accepted could submit an appeal in a 3 day deadline after publication of the above-mentioned list via an email message on the same website.

​After publication of the definitive list of accepted candidates, those should withdraw their invitations specifying date and place of the exam starting from November 17 from the Ministry’s website.

​Results of written tests and date and place of oral test will also be announced on the Ministry’s website.

​According to the Ministry’s note, the exam supervision committee is made up of the Ministry of Justice Secretary General as president, director of civil affairs (as vice president), directors of central administration of the Justice Ministry, first presidents and general attorneys of the courts of appeal of Rabat, Casablanca, Fez, Tangier, Oujda, Marrakech, Agadir, Beni Mellal, Errachidiya, Laayoune and of the president of the Moroccan bar association.

​The Ministry has clarified that this exam will be organized on the basis of law number 28.08 of October 2008, organizing the exercise of lawyer’s profession, particularly articles 5 and 6 and after the designation by the higher council of judiciary power and two magistrates to take part in the exam supervisory committee.
