In a militancy atmosphere.. Abdellatif Ouahbi addressing Fes – Meknes convention attendees: “Fez with its strong historical heritage has the right to come back to play its leading role economically and politically”
A militancy atmosphere has prevailed during the PAM regional convention of the Fez – Meknes area held last Saturday, November 19, 2022 in Fez, greeting the party’s leadership, including the party’ Secretary General Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi, several Politburo members and party’s MPs.
This outstanding organizational event, which was held under the slogan “for the party of institutions, outreach policy and genuine civic society”, started by an orientation allocution made by PAM Secretary General, Mr. Abdellatif Ouahbi in which he has welcomed all the attendees and guests of the party’s regional convention in Fez – Meknes area, and representatives from both the majority and opposition parties. At the beginning, Mr. Ouahbi has presented the many characteristics of the area, and especially the place of Fez city, stressing that this metropolis which was a source of influence has been suffering lately not only from scarcity of rain but of many accumulations of problems at all levels, saying: “Fez, with its powerful historical heritage should absolutely come back to top of national economy and therefore efforts should be deployed to raise the level of economic situation in the area.”
Talking about the place of Fez, Mr. Ouahbi said: “from Fez intellectual and religious cultures were brought out and it’s the right of this city to come back to play its role in managing economic and political decisions.”
On the other hand, Secretary General Mr. Ouahbi has tackled the issue of rain scarcity saying: “I have come here and I am very cheerful with the recent rain and we ask Allah to give us more of His Mercy (rain) that would reflect on farmers who are very patient and bear natural rules .. our strong belief in Allah and our convictions make us bear.”
Addressing the convention attendees, he said: “You may not understand the burden of economic situation on our country.. there’s a crisis all over the world and energy prices are still high and rain is still scarce and Allah Willing, Allah Mercy will come to secure citizens.”
Mr. Ouahbi has wondered what the government could do in these circumstances to answer the same question by saying “citizens contribute by paying taxes and make sacrifices, and when comes the crisis, the government should not leave citizens alone in the face of the crisis”; pointing out to pressure by PAM components inside the government coalition to the necessity to support average citizens’ purchasing power: “We have exerted pressure on many things because prices of energy and foodstuff could not be borne by citizens.. we are struggling to buy gas and agricultural products and in this context, we cannot leave our people hungry and sell our goods to foreign countries.”
